Local Linoleum                            2023

A proposal to make a solid and local linoleum as a building material that is re-pliable at its end of life. The project is part of a commisson from MAKE GOOD, rethinking material futures at the V&A. The research is about making linoleum three-dimensional instead of in a sheet material, and proposes to make linoleum from local materials that are not extracted from the earth; Linseed oil from local flax farmers, wood dusts that are a byproduct from local furniture industry and woodworking companies, chalks that are a by-product from drinking water production.

On display at the V&A in London - from 22nd of November 2023 until October 2024 - in the exhibition Re-forming Waste.
