Zachte Piano             2023 -

A project to restore a Steinway grand piano from 1905 in collaboration with piano technician Rik Cox. All old woolen parts of the piano are renewed and re-created from Rotterdam wool. The making process involves making new woolen hammers, and the various other wool felts that are traditionally used in Grand Piano’s. Usually merino wool is used, now the local Rotterdam wool creates its own sound. The piano was first shown and played by Volodymyr Antoniv at the exhibition ‘Snakken naar Boijmans’ and is currenly in the workshop of Rik Cox to be further developed.
